In the movie, the famous Batman villain is played by Paul Dano. Given the enhanced strength and brutality he displayed, it seems the substance is awfully similar to the Venom Bane has used throughout his run as one of Batman's villains. He then injects himself with the material, and suddenly, he's on his feet once again and beating the snot out of the enemy.
